Panel Discussion: How do we decarbonise long distance transport during/after COVID-19?

30 Jun, 2020 - 30 Jun, 2020
Location: remote
Task 39IEA Bioenergy

The BC-SMART Biofuels Consortium and IEA Bioenergy Task 39 are co-sponsoring a free, “virtual”, panel discussion involving senior representatives of Canada’s oil refining, aviation, marine, rail/trucking and feedstock sectors.

The virtual panel discussion will be held via Zoom, on Tuesday, 7:30-9:00 PST (10.30- noon EST / 16:30-18:00 CET), 30 June 2020.

During these unprecedented times, the panel members have been asked to gaze into their crystal balls, and anticipate how each of their sectors might decarbonise while remaining economically competitive.

As Canada is highly dependent on long distance transport, how will National and Provincial carbon reduction aspirations be achieved while “digging-out” of COVID-19 induced economic contraction?

The list of panel members and their short bios are summarized in the flyer (click here).
