State of the art in sustainable biomass recovery technology/supply chain in forest operations
This IEA Bioenergy Task 43 report provides an overview of most efficient biomass harvesting technologies and supply chains applied in North America, Europe and Oceania. The productivity and cost of selected efficient technologies have been presented for each country with a brief description of source of the biomass and working method. Experts’ opinions on the most successful biomass operations have also been stated briefly for each country. The main conclusions from various international studies have been provided at the end of the report in addition to future requirements for research and development in biomass harvesting operations. The information provided information in this report can be a useful guide to industry and academic users.
